  1. Field label
  2. Test name
  3. Lab section
  4. Test type
  5. Results
  6. Result type
  7. Permitted sample type
  8. Active

Field label

How the new lab test will be displayed on web pages (eg BCL2-E17).

Test name

Internal (private) name for lab test. Will not appear on web pages. Must be unique to particular lab section, and cannot contain spaces (eg bcl2_e17). Different lab sections can have the same test name.

Lab section

Parent lab section for this test. There must be at least 1 lab section already defined.

Test type

Individual event (test, probe, single protocol, etc) or collection of events (panel).

Results

Does the test/panel need to store a result?

Result type

Only required if Results value is 'yes'. What type of result is required (date, datetime, free text, drop-down options, numerical value, etc).

Permitted sample types

What sample types are supported by the test/panel. The parent lab section has a default sample type set (eg Flow cytometry defaults to liquid sample types only). Default sample type(s) can be overriden here if required.

Active

Flag for whether the test is currently active. Defaults to 'yes'. Can be switched on and off as required without loss of existing data. This parameter only affects whether the test is available at the time of test allocation on a new request.
